Guess What Can Be Easy? Yoga!

When the average Westerner thinks of yoga, they cringe. They think of the yoga masters twisting themselves into pretzels or bending over backwards to grab their heels. These positions can be painful to watch. But the most touted yoga masters are usually photographed doing the most difficult positions in yoga in order to make a great photo. Yoga is more than twisting yourself up into a pretzel. In fact, easy yoga is not an oxymoron. Easy yoga is, in fact, the rule rather than the exception.

So Easy Even A Caveman Can Do It

Easy yoga and advanced yoga have been around for thousands of years, developed in India to help a person find balance and harmony in all areas of life. By having a balanced and harmonious body that obeys what positions you tell it to go in, you may be better able to find your place in the universe.

Yoga is not a religion. It was originally taught while reciting passages from Hindu¡¯s ancient religious texts, but it does not have to be taught with any religious references whatsoever.

Easy yoga positions are taught in lessons, community college classes, books, videos and DVDs. It is thought that having at least two or three classes with an instructor present is best before following a tape or DVD. The instructor can put you in the correct position and you can learn what correct easy yoga positions feel like when done properly.

Yoga classes and programs are made for children, pregnant women, the elderly and cavemen. (Yes, I¡¯m just joking about the cavemen. Chances are, they already know easy yoga and could teach modern man a position or two).

Benefits of Yoga

There are many benefits to learning an easy yoga routine. First off, you need to exercise regularly in order to stay healthy. Easy yoga can be a fun and relaxing way to exercise.

As your muscles learn better flexibility, you may feel a rise in self-confidence. You may also feel relaxed, calmed and refreshed. Many practitioners of easy yoga use their yoga workouts as moving meditation sessions. They find easy yoga helps get rid of the stress and disappointments of the day and help them not only get fit, but get happy.

Basic Equipment

For easy yoga, you need loose clothes and a yoga mat. The yoga mat is a lot like the mats in your gym class in school. They slightly suck at your feet to help you stabilize during your easy yoga positions. Most people prefer to do easy yoga barefoot.
